Nurse attorney, Cory Silkman, successfully defended a registered nurse accused of hitting her own mother in the mouth.  The Maryland Board of Nursing alleged that the nurse accompanied her mother to an emergency room.  While in the emergency room, the nurse allegedly argued with her mother, became angry, and hit her mother in the mouth.  Two hospital staff allegedly witnessed the nurse hitting her mother.

Cory Silkman aggressively cross-examined the hospital staff and revealed that neither of them had witnessed any of the events at issue, and even documented events that did not occur.  He presented witnesses who testified that the registered nurse never hit her own mother.  The nurse was acquitted of all charges and no action was taken against her license.
